Gained insight into applying geospatial data science techniques at scale for public sector data enhancements, particularly through getting to grips with Databricks.
Core Skills:

I'm a geospatial developer and data scientist with a passion for sustainability and the environment. I’m adaptable, always learning, and ready to be thrown in at the deep end! Outside of work I love being creative or out in nature ⋆。☾ ゚⋆。
June 2023 - present
Don't let the job title fool you! Over the past two years I've spent most of my time co-developing OS Maps for Power BI, a Beta tool designed iteratively based on customer feedback, to democratise access to OS data for technical and non-technical users alike. I engaged with customers to gather and prioritise requirements, led the UI design, built features (TypeScript), incorporated logging and built a dashboard to understand feature usage over the course of the beta. Alongside this, I've gained experience in prototyping new datasets and sharing coding best practice (I'm a Git stan) across the business.
September 2021 - June 2023
Specialised in map-based web development, spatial data science, and practical ethics at the intersection of geospatial data and artifical intelligence (GeoAI). I traversed the business through four placements:

2022
This is where I really found my passion for web development and geospatial data science. I worked on a plethora of customer-centric prototypes with geospatial data at their core, learning Python, web-dev, agile development, collaborative problem solving, and presenting in regular business-wide demos. The fast-paced environment and fun team culture made the RPT my favourite placement.
Core Skills:
September - March
2021/22
Focused on advancing OS's efforts to incorporate ethical practice in geospatial data and artificial intelligence (GeoAI) workflows. Highlights were running an external hybrid workshop on practical tools in GeoAI ethics and introducing Model Cards through creating an internal Model Hub website for OS's machine learning algorithms.

October 2019 ‑ December 2020
The crux of my postgraduate research was to develop a deep learning method for semantic segmentation of satellite imagery containing marine-terminating glaciers in Greenland. Memorable moments include publishing a paper in one of the top peer-reviewed glaciology journals and demonstrating in undergraduate Remote Sensing practicals.
October 2016 ‑ July 2019
First Class Honours
Became familiar with geospatial data and GIS, completing a dissertation titled 'Mapping the seasonal and inter-annual evolution of supraglacial meltwater features on Nivlisen Ice Shelf, East Antarctica'.
June 2015 - June 2016
Advanced Highers (ABB) · Highers (AAABB)
Developed a Power BI custom visual to allow customers to easily use OS mapping in their data visualisation.
Marochov et al. 2021 | The Cryosphere, European Geosciences Union
Developed Complex Buildings Intelligence product - combining insights from different datasets to help altnets maximise return on investment. Developed an interactive frontend to display the power of the data.
Lead developer and consultant for Timmy Mallett's Utterly Brilliant Britain web map (written in Svelte), which is designed to promote OS maps, and visualise Timmy's artwork and GB-circumnavigating cycle routes to his social media following.
